Hey, I'm Angie!Angela is a theatre planner, technical director, and scenic carpenter who spent many years working in regional theatre before moving on to a career in Theatre Planning with Schuler Shook. Through her experience in scenic construction and technical direction, Angie brings skills in project management and engineering, along with a unique understanding of the multitude of ways in which live performance venues are used. She feels strongly about making theatre spaces the most useful and enjoyable they can be for technicians, actors, and audience.
Before Angie's transition to theatre planning, she worked as a Technical Director at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. At CST, Angie led the technical design, construction, and installation of scenery. in 2017, she was part of opening a brand new theatre - The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare, a one-of-a-kind flexible venue. Angela is originally from Kalamazoo, MI. She received a BA in Theatre Design and Production from Western Michigan University, and an MFA in Technical Direction from the University of Arizona. Angie now lives in Chicago, IL with her fiancé, where she enjoys going to baseball games, trying new restaurants, and exploring the city. |
